As our first investigation of CPI, it was Dennis and I investigating Old Silverbrook in Anderson, SC. We wanted to get our feet wet in investigating so we started here using just a few digital cameras during the day time. We have no evidence of the paranormal in this investigation but one strange thing happened. When i was taking some video with my digital camera i was filming at brook of the cemetary, where the name old silverbrook comes from, and i went to put the video on the computer and it played for about 7 sec and the video started shaking while playing it in WMP then the video deleted itself. Strange but could have been a electronic error. But that was a good first investigation for the team.
The legend of Crybaby Bridge is what motivated us to do this case. The story goes that a woman comitted suicide on the bridge and had her baby in her hands when she took her life by jumping off the side. The legend also states that if you scream "I have your baby, or I killed your baby" she is suppose to appear and walk toward you with her arms out. We sat out to debunk this story, me and Dennis were equiped with our digital cameras and 1 hd mini camcorder, we had to do the investigation during the day because of the laws but we took hundreds of pics and about 3 30 min long videos and nothing appeared in either. This is an old legend and a ghost story that has been sent down plenty of generations in conlusion of our evidence we gathered we think that this is just a ghost story.
There is no local stories about this churchyard being haunted but we were messing around during the day just to take a few pics and learn about the history of Anderson's 1st Baptist Church. Turns out that there is a lot of history and nothing paranormal. But we will return here on a later date to do some more investigating.
This case was pretty fun just because of the history and some of the ghost stories, and experiences that have taken place there. We didn't spend much time there because of the daylight we had left and the laws in SC being you can't be in a "graveyard" past daylight, but we took some video and pics of the place and nothing really conclusive was their but we are looking to go back there one day.
This is an old church in Anderson SC whose held sunday services for a long time. We wanted do an investigation here to see how we could do in a night time investigation. We have heard stories that the place has held exorcisms there and we wanted to see if we could capture any lingering spirits around. We used digital cameras, analog camcorders, 2 hd mini digital camcorders, mini dv camcorder and 3 digital voice recorders. The atmospheric feeling there was wild but nothing was captured and used for evidence. Overall a good learning case.
This was a horrible case because we were there for about 20 min and had interference on our vids and pics due to the rain. On the case we had me, Dennis, and Bradley. We will be returning back to this historic place later this year.
We went to a private residence that had some reports of paranormal activity their. We used 1 mini dv camcorder, 2 digital cameras, and 2 dvr's. This is our first case that we only had 1 lead investigator and an investigator in training. Me and Bradley set up 2 dvrs in the bathroom downstairs and decided to do some EVP work and take some pictures there. About 25 min into the EVP we captured a voice on 1 of the recorders after the other one died 10 mins. before. After further review and some debunking we concluded that it was conclusive evidence. It is located on our home page. You can make judgements for yourself but we came up with that it is an in-human voice meaning some presence of demonic acitivty. After provoking the spirit and saying in the name of Jesus Christ we demand you to show yourself the EVP took place. Leave us some feedback on what you think. Overall a very good case.
This is a pre investigation dry run of Manse Jolly Rd and House. We took some EVPs, Pics and Vids of the road infront of the Jolly House just to see if we could capture anything, but because of some dogs barking we couldn't evps and because we weren't on the property we decided to come back a later date and get permission to inv the Manse Jolly house/yard. We took some pics in the dark and did some lighting up on them in photoshop and caught some weird figures and mist in them but we dismissed the photos because of the use of photoshoping them even though we had to use it, interesting case. Can't wait to go back.
The history of the Old Stone Church is incredible. The names of some of the graves out their were historic names such as Robert Anderson, Andrew Pickens, and Rebecca Calhoun Pickens; war heroes of the civil war and Andrew Pickens, signer of the Dec. of Ind. The visitations of Pres. Abe Lincoln on Easter Sunday Services and others. Speeking of Easter Sunday, there is a legend to the church that is said that people can see an apparition of a woman holding a lit candle walking from the steps of the church out to her grave as the sun goes down. No evidence was ever documented of this and the only investigation team ever to do the Old Stone Church were a group of people who didn't have a clue what they were doing. So we sat out to record, debunk, and document the legend. March 23rd Easter Sunday evening me, Dennis, and Bradley inv. the Old Stone Church. We had 4 digital cameras, 3 digital camcorders, and 3 DVR. Some strange stuff happened that night but nothing we couldn't debunk. As of the legend of the woman in white well we proved that it was just a legend.
We had a situation the in early May about a man in NC thought he had a residual haunting in the house because he kept hearing noises at night. My first instinct was maybe its not paranormal. Well before contacting (us) he set out a digital voice recorder and captured a horrible voice on saying pretty hair and daddy, daddy. This recorder was placed into his daughter's bedroom. She is 17 months old. When I read this letter he sent me,my heart dropped. This is what all of us (paranoraml investigators) are suppose to do, to help people out in these situations. So I took action, I listened to the audio clip and knew exactly what is was after all the books and studying on demonology, it was an in-human spirit. Think about this, a demon in a little girls room, terrorizing her and her family. She can't defend herself, has no knowledge of what is happening, and is completly open for attack. How would that make you or me, or anybody else feel. I contacted him ASAP. I told him about demons and how they lie and confuse and trick people and their ways of attacking through others; the whole 9 yards of my studying on demonology. I sent him some Bibical verses and the Blessing of the House and the ritual of the blessing, and told him what to do. The next night he set out a voice recorder while performing the Blessing with a preacher and his family, he did everything i said and even envoked the Holy Trinity as I told him. He said that his daughter, now, 17 months of age, reached her hand to the ceiling and smiled. Now if she saw an angel I don't know, nobody knows. But later that night he sent me a email telling me this and said thank you for all i've done. This is truely, a remarkable, touching story that I want to put on here to tell people how we can help you in your time of danger, confusion, and tramatic experience. This man came to us because he trusted us and we succesfully helped him. This is what we are about if anyone as any questions about this case, or if they want to know anything else, or want us to help you please contact us.
Walpurgis Night is a traditional Pagan, Roman Catholic Saints and Satanic holiday. The current festival celebrates festivals in honor of Saint Walpurga in Germany. Long story short it is a night traditionally celebrated on April 30th through the morning of May 1st. A lot of pagan practices and demonic/occult activity as well are performed on this night in tradition that was started a little over 1300 years ago. Well, the being that it was during the week with most of our team working and going to college Dennis and I sought out to do some investigating that night. We first re-visited the old Anderson 1st baptist churchyard. In respect of SC laws we took some stills outside of the cemetary. Nothing really conclusive appeared on the photographs but 1 photo stood out but we dismissed it because of the fact of matrixing could have been involved during review. Our next stop was Re-visiting Old Silverbrook Cemetary. As you can tell this is a historic and very old piece of Anderson, SC which attracts a lot of attention from people that study and investigate the paranormal. Again obeying laws we took some stills from outside looking in. Nothing conclusive in these photographs but I, myself had an experience while taking a photograph. As I was about to take the picture I was looking directly infront of me at a tombstone which was my subject in the photograph, that what looked like to me a arm or something waved right in front of my camera and face. It startled me but I professionally kept my words and composure intact and took the picture as fast as I could and multiple pics of the same tombstone after. Nothing came out in the photos and because Dennis wasn't there to verify my experience we had to dismiss this as evidence but it was an all around good night. Looking forward to next year!
Located off of Meeting Street in Downtown Chraleston, SC, Ropemakers Lane has had quite a silent but yet well known reputation of a local legend of a haunting. The road is basicly a alley that starts off of Meeting Street and expands down to a closed in yard about 40 yards off of the main street. The legend goes that you can see a shadow of a pirate killing another person on the brick wall on the left side of the alley. To my knowledge and numerous amounts of researching no reports have been documented of this haunting taking place but yet how is it that all the locals in Charleston know about this? Who knows. The weekend of May 16th we set out to investigate this case. We did a dry run during the day time with digital cameras to kind of scout out the place and get another feel for the area, since being at this place about 5 times before we already had an idea of what we were doing. That night around 1:00 am we did the investigation with no interference of car lights or people. Being at night, with the high humidity in Charleston, and our knowledge of photographic effects of dust particles and moisture we quickley disposed of the evidence of orbs in the pictures, as we do NOT condone orbs as apart of our findings. We tackled the case with myself and Dennis alone with 2 digital cameras and 1 digital hd video camera. As of a closely, accuratley inspection of our findings we concluded that Ropemakers Lane on that night is just a legend. We found nothing that night but we wont dismiss that there could be some evidence that proves the alley to be haunted. After all that is what we are here to do, help people and anaylize and document paranormal investigations. We do look to come back to Ropemakers Lane in the near future to do a follow up re-visitation of the infamous alley in Charleston, SC.
If you know or didnt know, the Old City Jail in Charleston has been the most highly visited attraction and tourism spot in Charleston the past 2 years. Its full of history and accountable experiences of paranormal activity. Built in 1790 the jail was first used to hold highest degrees of criminals including the Fishers. It is said that the jail to this day is suppose to be haunted by Lavinia Fisher, the infamous woman serial killer, who is also said to the first woman serial killer in United States history. She said to haunt the grounds and has been seen in a white dress. The jail was also used to hold slaves when their masters used to go to balls and parties and the Old Exchange Building. The remaining soilders of the 54th Regiment of Mass. were held here. It has said that there have been almost 1000 deaths in this jail dating back to the 18th Century. The history can go on and on. It withheld the great earthquake of 1886, it has stood through the possession of the North in the Civil War, and has held some of SC most violent criminals ever. On the paranormal side of the history of the old jail is that the jail was built on an old Indian burial ground. That has been causes of highly paranormal activity in places before. Accounts of paranormal activity in jail started about 6 years ago when they started fixing up the jail to have tours through, the men working on the renavation said they have felt everything from cold spots to footsteps to being touched, and hearing jail cell doors being slammed. The list can go on even to say that 3 paranormal groups before us that have done an investigation in the jail all left with some kind of experiences and evidences. When we set out to do this case we wanted to take a walk through investigation in May and come back with the team in October to do a full overnight investigation. On the tour of the jail we were equiped with 2 digital cameras 1 video camera and 1 digital voice recorder. While we came out with no photographic evidence and no EVPs, we are very anxious to go back down to Charleston, SC this fall to do a investigation of one of the most haunted places in the United States.
Placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the Department of the Interior, 73 Church Street was the house of Dr. Thomas Dale whose reputation and stories of his un-earthly presence are famous in Charleston S.C. In 1733 Col. Miles Brewton built this house for his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Dale and her husband. Occupied up to the mid 1800's the house continued to be passed down through the generations of the Dale Family until the city bought the residence and used it to hold meeting of the Council of the Province. Today it's home to 2 very kind people that saw Dennis and I walking down the street taking photographs of the historic town. She saw our team shirts on and noticed that it said Carolina Paranormal Investigations on the back she wanted to stop us and tell her stories to us. We were so kindly to be invited in her house to try to document some of her experiences here. We knew that this two story house including a basement and attic would have a lot of history here due to the city's rich history in wars and trade, but we were amazed at really how much has happened here. Full body apparitions, shadow people, footsteps, voices, etc. During our tour of the house we had no experiences of the paranormal but we were invited to come back later this fall and do a full investigation of the house. More details too come on this inv.
In November of 2008, We headed back to Old Stone Church in Pendleton, SC to train the team in an investigation process. Setting up cameras, learning to use the cameras, hand held and tripod. Using emf metors, therm., evps, etc. With us on the investigation was Dennis, myself, Amy, Marie, and David. Although we caught nothing we could use as evidence it was a good learning exp. for all of us. We will return to Old Stone Church in April of 2009.
Investigation moved to sometime in the year of 2010-2011. House is under major renovation.
In December of 2008, strange and unexplainable occurrences and observations have taken place in this area along and in the surrounding woods of Gambrell Rd. This case will not be fully listed into details due to ongoing investigating. Details to follow when avaliable.
Details soon to come in future cases....
On going case, details soon to come!
In November of 2008, two new members of the CPI were taken to Old Silverbrooke in Anderson and trained to investigate using different camera techniques and methods. Training also involved what to look for, EVR and EMF work, along with observing surroundings for paranormal activity. This training investigation went very well and will be followed up by other members and sessions in the future.
