CPI has a variety of high tech, state of the art equipment used by many professional paranormal investigative research teams. We use these pieces of equipment to help capture and verify what could possibly be means of paranormal activity. The scientific pieces of equipment can be found at your local electronics store or online at www.ghost-mart.com . If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to learn more about these pieces of equipment, please contact our tech manager Dave Banaszak at banaszak@carolina-paranormal-investigations.net All of the equipment you see here is owned and used by Carolina Paranormal Investigations.
In this picture, you see 2 laptops, a netbook, an evidence kit, a bible, a house cleansing kit and 2 trap cameras. The 2 laptops stay at command central at all times. Either one is for unloading media cards and the other for recording video or both recording video straight from our wireless IR cams. The small netbook stays at command central and is mainly a storage location for all types of media and is used to electronically log and monitor equipment being checked in and out during an investigation. Not pictured here is 3 of our 500 GB external hard drives, which we store video on that comes directly from the IR cams. The bible and house cleansing kit is used when we deal with special cases dealing with in-human haunts. For more information on this please contact Dennis Carroll at 864-353-8048 or dcarroll@carolina-paranormal-investigations.net . The 2 Trap Cams you see are used mainly during other paranormal investigations dealing with cryptozoological creatures and such. They simply take a picture every time movement takes place in the vicinity of the camera's rage. The Evidence Kit is used when we go on special cases outside dealing cryptids and other paranormal phenomena. For more information on what this contains and our approach to other types of paranormal investigations please contact one of the Founders.
To the left you see an LCD Monitor, a DVD player, a regular 13" monitor, a DVD Recorder, a switchboard and a VCR Recorder. These recorders simply record data for our IR Wired and Wireless Cams and in some cases we do use analog as a resourceful means of recording even more possible evidence of the paranormal. The switchboard allows us to switch between cams during an investigation if one of our investigators has some activity going on in that location. The small portable DVD player is just a quick way to pop in a DVD if something is caught on video and we need to review it right then. The DVD recorder is a very useful means of recording video, easy hookups allows us to use up to 4 cameras simultaneously. Again if you have any more questions on hookups or anything else please contact our Tech Manager.
In this picture, shows what probably is our most important pieces of equipment used to conduct an investigation in a scientific manner. These tools of a paranormal investigator are everything from carbon monoxide detectors to IR Spotlights. A brief list of our equipment shown that we use in the field: 7 Walkie Talkies, 7 EMF testers including a Tri-Field Meter, 8 Hand-held Video Cameras, 12 digital cameras including 3 Canon Rebels, 8 digital voice recorders, 3 analog voice recorders, 2 thermo guns, 2 motion detectors, 1 carbon monoxide detector, 1 I.R. spotlight and 1 Night Vision Scope. This is not all of CPI's equipment (not pictured: 35mm cameras, other voice recorders, random field investigation equipment, batteries, misc. hookups, etc.), we do have backups but these are the main ones we use in a our cases.
Video Recorders are so useful because if capture something with a still camera, many skeptics would shun it down because you have no proof of what comes before or after that picture. Always leaves a door open for the what if's and the maybes. Voice Recorders are good as well but again you so much interference that it leaves the door open as well. With video cameras the door is almost shut and latched. During our investigations we use 4 main cameras. Up front you will see our 2 wireless IR cams and our 2 wired IR cams. We also use 2 Sony Night-shot Handy Cams and a Night-shot JVC video cam. Very useful in completely dark situations and very mobile as well. If we want to cover a hot spot that doesn't allow a lot of room to maneuver big tripods, we use small tripods and our 4 small Aptek HD video cameras. We do have 4 good analog video cameras (2 not pictured) that we use for back up.
The lights pictured here, you may wonder why so many? Well besides the flashlights and lanterns we use clip on lights and black lights. Its a neat trick not a lot of people know about. If you take a night-shot camera and apply the night shot you get about 4-6 feet of good visibility, applying an infrared light, you get about 8-12 feet of light but IR lights are very expensive. Turning on a black light has no interference with still pictures, video, audio, emf... nothing. You also get about 15-20 feet of visibility, not seen by the human eye. Very neat trick. If you have more questions about this please contact Dave Banaszak our Tech Manager.
Here you see our reels of video/audio (RCA), s-video and extension cords. We have on an average investigation about 6-10 power strips available. Not pictured here, we have a large bag full of extension cords ranging from 6ft to 50ft. Enough all together to cover several football fields over and over again.
